Setting Up Security Questions for Extra Account Protection Print

  • 0

Keeping your DediRock account secure is our top priority. While strong passwords and Two-Factor Authentication provide excellent protection, adding security questions adds an extra layer of defense against unauthorized access.

Why Use Security Questions?

Security questions act as an additional verification step if someone tries to access your account or reset your password. They:

  • Provide backup authentication beyond your password.

  • Help prevent account takeovers from stolen credentials.

  • Add peace of mind knowing your information is more secure.

How to Set Up Security Questions in Your DediRock Account

Step 1: Log in to Your Client Portal

Visit the DediRock Client Portal and log in with your credentials.

Step 2: Access Security Settings

  • Click on your profile name in the top-right corner.

  • Select Security Settings from the dropdown menu.

Step 3: Choose and Answer Security Questions

  • Select from the list of available security questions (e.g., “What was the name of your first pet?”).

  • Provide answers that only you would know.

  • Avoid using answers that could be found online (such as your birthdate or mother’s maiden name).

Step 4: Save Changes

Click Save Changes to activate your security questions.

Tips for Strong Security Question Answers

  • Be unique — Use answers that are personal but not easily guessed.

  • Be consistent — Remember exactly how you typed your answer (capitalization, spacing, etc.).

  • Don’t share — Never reveal your answers to anyone.

Updating or Resetting Your Security Questions

If you need to update your security questions:

  1. Log in to the Client Portal.

  2. Go to Security Settings.

  3. Select Change Security Questions.

  4. Enter your current password and update your answers.

Final Thoughts

By setting up security questions, you’re adding one more barrier against unauthorized access to your hosting account. Combined with strong passwords and 2FA, this ensures your DediRock account stays safe and protected.
